Airside Vehicle Examination Centre (AVEC)

GSEL has been appointed by AAHK as an Airside Vehicle Examination Centre (AVEC) in providing the first time and annual renewal examination of the powered and non-powered ground support equipment for all airport operators with effective from 05 June 2006.

Since the preparation of AVEC, GSEL has established a dedicated team, which is exclusive to the AVEC service and segregated from the routine repair and maintenance operations. This ensures that no conflict of interest can arise from the AVEC service allowing the provision of an equitable, professional and high quality examination service to our customers.

In accordance with the AAHK AVL and Exam Handbook, the examination procedure is summarized and simply portrayed for your easy reference as follows :

First stage ¡V pre-examination booking
1. Telephone the examination hotline for the gse/vehicle examination booking.
2. Examination team members will answer your enquiries and provide more detailed information on the examination process.
3. An e-mail or fax reply will be issued to the applicant for the vehicle examination schedule within 2 business days.
4. Applicant should bank in the examination fee to GSEL bank account within 5 days from the date of reply. The applicant should bank in the AVPP or EPP fee to AAHK bank account simultaneously (if required).
5. Applicant fax the bank-in slip to GSEL and GSEL will e-mail or fax the confirmation to the applicant within 2 business days.
6. Applicant submits the following document to GSEL before two business days of the confirmed examination date.
-Original bank-in slip.
-Original AVL application form.
-Original AVPP application form (if required)
-Copy of AVL registration document.
-Copy of TD license registration document (for safety check)
-Copy of valid insurance document (if required)

Second stage - examination
1. Applicant drives the appointed gses/vehicles to GSEL at the designated date and time.
2. No need to bring any documents.
3. After examination, our examiners will inform the applicant the result immediately.
4. An examination report will be issued to applicant on the same day if the gse/vehicle failed the examination.

Third stage ¡V post-examination
1. GSEL will submit the examination summary to AAHK on the next day.
2. AAHK will prepare the AVL permit.
3. GSEL will collect the AVL permit.
4. GSEL will inform the gse owner to collect the AVL permit.
5. The gse/vehicle owner should return the old AVL permit to GSEL within 2 business days.
6. The End.
